ohope-beachOhope beach in New Zealand is a great area for hang out. The scenic beauty is really eye-catching. Ohope Beach is a beach in the eastern Bay of Plenty, on the northeast coast of the North Island of New Zealand, six kilometres east and over the hill, from Whakatane.

It is a popular spot during the New Zealand summer. There are several good swimming beaches, which are really safe for all. The western end of the beach is imaginatively named ‘West End’ and is really well known for surfing during the summer and popular at the Christmas period.

The Ohope Beach Surf Lifesaving Club offers a patrolled beach over the high season. There are lots of holiday accommodations available including resort type motels and hotels. There is a large camping ground at the east end.

There are also numerous walking tracks around the area, especially at the north end of the beach. The Ohope Craft Market is held every second Saturday over summer and once a month over winter and offers local crafts including pottery, plants, fruit and vegetables, preserves and wine.

Located at the eastern end of the Ohope sand spit is the Ohope Golf Club. This is an 18-hole course with stunning views to the Pacific Ocean to the north, Ohiwa Harbour to the south the East Coast.

If you enjoy oysters and other fresh seafood, you can visit famous Ohope Oyster Farm where you can enjoy here the delicious taste test.

There are many hotels, motels and holiday homes so lodging would not be a problem for you. This is an amazing spot in New Zealand.
