New Plymouth

new-plymouth-tourismNew Plymouth is heaven for climber’s surfers and hikers. It offers an environment that is the very best for a host of natural wonders. Taranaki, the majestic volcanic mountain that rises from the coast line forms the back drop of this place.

This has resulted in the area becoming a major attraction for the tourists that flock to the area to take images that adorn the world’s photography galleries walls.

New Plymouth consists of mountains, rivers, sea paths and gardens. Looking very much like Japans Mount Fuji, Mt Taranaki has a cone that rises 2518 meters and surrounded by no less than 50 rivers and lush green country side. It has a national park and a unique botanic environment and therefore many species of exotic birds are found here.

Moreover this city provides boating, diving, sailing, pole fishing, surfing; bird watching, and beach walks. Mt Taranaki’s snow is the main attraction during the winter months. The experts suggest climbing the mountain during the more hospitable summer season.

Towards the East of New Plymouth the beaches at East End Fitzroy and East End are world renowned as surfers dream destinations.

If that were not enough two other world class locations Oakura and Paritutu are located just 20 minutes to the west of the city. If you did not bring your gear or you are a novice there are several shops where you can rent boards, or take a beginners class, they will also be able to give you the forecasts and updating on the surf.
